Effie Nkrumah (she/her) is a Ghanaian-Australian and proud Western Sydney artist. A graduate of Theatre Nepean, she works as an actor, director, host, curator, and writer.

Malthouse Theatre: Acting credits include Telethon Kid; Directing credits include Who No Kno Go Kno; and Community Engagement for seven methods of killing kylie jenner.

Other Theatre: Acting credits include La Belle Epoque (Theatre Works) and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (Michael Cassel Group); Directing credits include Ilarun (fortyfivedowntairs); Akaraka (Empty Seat Theatre) and Oshun (La Mama); and Resident Director for MJ the Musical (Michael Cassel Group).

Television: Neighbours (Fremantle).

Other: Contributor for Maxine Beneba Clarke’s Growing Up African in Australia, and voice of Astra, the first Ghanaian agent in Valorant (Riot Games).

Effie is a board member for Multicultural Arts Victoria and holds a master’s in arts politics from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Her mission is to ensure people living at the pinpoint of complex intersection, can find a sense of grounding and pride in who they are and renewed curiosity about who they can be.
